Bio: He is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Chicago, with a research focus on databases. Prior to his academic pursuits, he amassed about five years of industry experience. This includes a year as a Tech Leader in the Media (NAND) Platform team at SK hynix, and more than three years at TmaxData as a team leader and database researcher. He holds an M.S. in Computer Science from KAIST (2018) and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with a double major in Computer Science and a minor in Business and Technology Management, from KAIST (2016).

Designed re-balance and re-sync functions of Database active storage. Improved the performance and speed of existing products and solved problems such as memory leaks.
Designed and developed the database storage manager, which manages all the tablespace maps and instances.
Developed communication protocol with the cloud and the boot script to automatically configure the database through the information from the communication.

Sep. 2016 - Jan. 2018 (1 yr 5 mos), Research Assistant
Designed a circuit and programmed it using Arduino to make an on-body transmitter.
Trained 4,000 datasets for the system that combines a long short-term memory(LSTM)-based recurrent neural network, NLP, and mobile computing techniques to make proper and timely emoji/image suggestions. [p1]
Explored the possibility of active noise control using only commodity smartphones without costly equipment such as high-quality speakers, microphones, or devices that are uncomfortable to wear. [c1, p2]
Created an environment that uses Wi-Fi signals to detect signals reflected by people.
Designed the low-powered data collection methods using a network resource manager in IoT. [p3, p4]
Developed the system for the presenter to better understand the audience and predict their reaction. It can facilitate asynchronous two-way interaction between presenters and reviewers in providing feedback. [w1]
